This animation was shown at an internal police conference led by the chief constable, in response to complaints from officers given too many ‘priority tasks’. It was part of a process of streamlining procedures and reducing bureaucracy. The idea of using an animated video to show the situation was more fun and interesting than just spoken word. The first stage was sketching and storyboarding, then scanning the pages into Illustrator to draw over the top and create the final illustrations. These were then imported into After Effects and brought to life.
